Business Growth Submission
All Participants who are eligible for the Business Growth Award (operating a BC-based business for a minimum of 25 months as of December 16th, 2008) must submit a completed application package with the application form based on the seven headings below.
Providing a business plan is encouraged (but not required) and should be submitted in the appendicies section of the Business Growth application package.
The application package must be typewritten in 12-point type on 8.5 x 11 paper (letter size) and shall not exceed 25 single-sided pages, this EXCLUDES Title Page, Table of Contents, Financials, and any Appendices. For full details on how to submit your Business Plan visit General Submission Rules.
Business Growth Application Guidelines:
To complete the application pacakge, Business Growth Participants must provide the following information using the seven headings below:
Profile of Participant:
Provide a personal profile including the qualities that make your business outstanding and you a good candidate for the Business Growth Award.
Business Definition:
Provide an overview of your business and products/services. Discuss the company's current activities and how your company demonstrates excellence in its field.
Growth Strategies:
Detail your strategic advantage over your competitors and your opportunities for growth. Outline your company's vision, goals and future prospects. List your challenges and how you plan to overcome them.
Company Structure:
Describe the legal and organizational structure of the company. Include a description of the key members of your management team, including your current position and percentage of share capital, if applicable.
Financial Strategies:
Explain how the business was financed from start-up, to the current date. List who provided the original investment; how is financing presently being done; and how you will finance further growth.
Appendices:
The Appendices section should include any supporting material that you have referenced in writing your application package. These materials may include the business plan, a summary of market research surveys, contracts, price lists, detailed or technical information on your product/service, owners’ resumes, etc.
Provide External References:
Provide three references from business associates or advisors including names, addresses and contact numbers. Letters are not necessary. Please note we will contact references provided.
